Working visit of the FIPV delegation to Cuba

This round of meetings with different sectors of Cuban sports, as well as the visit to its sports facilities, is part of a plan to revitalize Pelota on the island, with a view to hosting future events and improving existing facilities.

During the morning of December 17, the FIPV delegation with its Secretary General Julián García Angulo at the head met at the INDER, in the Sports Palace, attended by President Osvaldo Vento and Vice President Omar Venegas, to analyze the situation. current situation and see the possibilities of collaboration for the rehabilitation of the facilities, marking Cienfuegos as a priority.

A visit to the “Guernica” Fronton in the Cuban city of Cienfuegos by the FIPV delegation was also established. Presentation by the General Supervisor of the Ballroom Project, Civil Engineer Orelvis Martínez Ferrer, as well as the current status of the facility's works. Also attending were the Vice President of the Provincial Government of Cienfuegos Javier Álvarez Hernández, the Provincial Director of INDER Norge González Enrique and the Project Director, Civil Engineer Dayami Molina Espinosa.

Already on December 22, the last meeting of the FIPV delegation in Cuba was held, it was at the Coliseum of La Ciudad Deportiva, headquarters of INDER, where the conclusions of the visits made to the facilities of the Raúl Díaz Argüelles Complex and especially to the Guernica Fronton of Cienfuegos. Participating on behalf of INDER were its Vice President Omar Venegas, the Director of International Relations Gisleidy Sosa, and the President of the Cuban Federation of Basque Pelota and Frontón Lázaro Mendoza.
