Después de varias semanas de contactos, la FIPV se complace informar a la comunidad internacional de la Pelota Vasca y a la modalidad de Cesta Punta en particular, de la participación de Filipinas en la Liga de Naciones de Cesta Punta México 2025.

Agradecemos profundamente al Sr. Alex Singca y a Ron Madrigal por sus reacciones entusiastas y decididas frente a las propuestas de la Federación Internacional. Será el regreso de este país en el concierto de Naciones 23 años después del Mundial Absoluto  de México 2002 y del Sub-22 de Acapulco 2015. También la FIPV confirmó su deseo de estudiar la situación de las infraestructuras existentes en dicho país para ver cómo darle un nuevo uso a favor de nuestro deporte y relanzar esa modalidad.

36-metre Fronton. Men.

Characteristics:

A wooden bat and a leather pelota are used, which is thicker and has a larger diameter than a rubber pelota. Very physical and spectacular speciality.

Instrument:

Preferably made of beech wood or another noble wood, made of a single piece, with the following characteristics:

  • Max. length: 51 cm.
  • Max. width: 11.50 cm.
  • Thickness: 2 / 4.50 cm.
  • Weight: 600 / 800 g.

Pelota:

  • Core weight: 34-38 g.
  • Total weight: 85-90 g.
  • Diameter: 50-58 g.

30-metre Fronton. Trinquete. Men and Women.

Characteristics:

A wooden paddle and a rubber pelota are used. The most played speciality (by children, men, women, and veterans), considered for leisure, it requires less.

Instrument:

Made out of a single piece of wood, or laminated with various kinds of wood. Aluminium and wood nails, with fibre lateral.

  • Max. length: 55 cm.
  • Max. width: 20 cm.
  • Thickness: 1 cm.
  • Weight: 500 g.

Pelota:

  • Total weight: 35-40 g.

Playing area:

Trinquete. Men.

Characteristics:

It is played with an instrument formed by a chestnut wood hoop and a net, using a very quick leather pelota. The pelota is not hit, rather it is thrown hard, which results in a very fast game. This speciality was practised initially by the Basque clergy, who exported it to Argentina.

Instrument:

It is constructed out of a curved wicker or wooden ring, which holds a leather net attached around the inside that is Interlinked and somewhat loose.

Max. length: 55 cm.

Pelota:

  • Core weight: 33-35 g.
  • Total weight: 83 g.

Cesta punta

Área de Juego:

54-metre Fronton. Men.

Characteristics:

The most spectacular and universal speciality. The pelota reaches speeds of up to 300 km/h. It is played using an instrument that consists of chestnut and wicker, with a glove for the hand.

Instrument:

Made of chestnut, tightly woven wicker, grooved and cured, with a pocket for holding the pelota, it is composed of a grip, ribs, hoops and point. The glove is made of leather or similar material. Baskets made of plastic can also be used, as long as they are made technically the same as wicker ones.

  • Total, straight-line length: 62 / 68 cm.
  • Depth of pocket: 15 / 16 cm.
  • Length with curve: 90 / 100 cm.

Pelota:

  • Core weight: 90-115 g.
  • Total weight: 115-130 g.

Paleta cuero trinquete

Trinquete. Men.

Characteristics:

A wooden paddle and leather pelota are used (the smallest pelota of those used in specialities with a leather pelota). It is very attractive and spectacular due to the speed of the game.

Instrument:

Preferably made of beech wood or another noble wood, it does not have to be from a single piece. They all have to be made of wood, with the following characteristics:

  • Max. length: 50 cm.
  • Max. width: 13,50 cm.
  • Thickness: 2 / 3 cm.
  • Weight: 550 / 600 g.

Pelota:

  • Core weight: 15-18 g.
  • Total weight: 50-52 g.

Frontenis

Área de Juego:

30-metre Fronton.Men and Women.

Characteristics:

Imported from Mexico, where it is considered the national sport. A reinforced tennis racket and a rubber pelota are used.

Instrument:

They will be similar or the same as those used in the sport of tennis, made of wood, fibre, metal or graphite. The weight and tension of the cords are not limited. Double cords can be used, and there likewise is no limit on the length and width.

Mano trinquete

Instrument:

The most natural speciality, given that the pelota is hit directly with the palm of the hand.
